Final Day Today

Final Operating Day TODAY - Friday, April 2, 2021

Yesterday we were excited to announce that the Club would be open today, Friday, April 2, and tomorrow Saturday, April 3, according to the information received from the Provincial Government’s press release and website.  Following three different communications from the Government with regards to ski area operations, unfortunately, it appears that is not the case after all.

Here’s what’s happened:

• When the Shutdown was first announced, downhill skiing (and golf) were listed as closed activities
• Approximately one hour later, the Government website was updated, noting that downhill skiing (and golf) were on the list of approved activities.  We were happy to see this positive news and shared it with the Members
• This morning, downhill skiing has been removed from the list of approved recreational activities on the Government's website. Therefore, consistent with the Provincial order, Caledon will close for the season at the end of the day today.

We sincerely apologize for the confusion. We are equally disappointed with this news. We are, however, still operating today until 4 pm as the Shutdown does not take effect until 12:01 am Saturday morning.

Our Easter Helmet contest and Egg Hunt is underway today at the Club.  Be sure to find Sue at the West Deck to collect you’re your prize while supplies last!

We remind all Members to pick up their equipment from their lockers while at the Club today. As the province moves into Shutdown, lockers will not be accessible after today for at least the next 28 days.

The Club’s Disc Golf and Hiking will remain accessible for our Members during the Shutdown. Please visit the Club’s website to check on conditions before visiting to avoid disappointment and remember to follow all COVID protocols and Social Distancing Guidelines while utilizing the facilities.

The West Lodge Office will be closed on Saturday, April 3, Sunday, April 4, and Monday, April 5. We will be in the office on Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7 from 9 am-4 pm. Thereafter, the staff will be encouraged to work remotely as much as possible. Should you require assistance, please email admin@caledonskiclub.on.ca and we’ll be sure to direct your message to the appropriate staff member. We thank you in advance for your patience.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for further communication from the Club regarding our employee awards, summer utilization of Club facilities and year-end updates after April 30.

We would like to thank our Members for their incredible support of the Club and staff through this very different season.  We will continue to work hard during the off-season to plan what we hope will be a more normal 2021-2022 season.

We wish you and your families a safe and Happy Easter Weekend!

Craig MacDonald
General Manager
